About David

David Woodruff is a lifelong resident of Arlington with a deep-seated commitment to serving Tarrant County. As a candidate for Tarrant County Constable Precinct 2, David brings over three decades of law enforcement experience, a proven track record of integrity, and a passionate vision for a safer and stronger community.

Graduating from Lamar High School in 1987, David pursued his passion for justice and public service by earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas. His dedication to law enforcement was solidified when he graduated from the NCTCOG Police Academy in 1993.

David's career spans 31 years in law enforcement, including eight years serving as Constable. He holds a Master Peace Officer License and has completed over 3,300 hours of additional training, ensuring he is equipped with the latest skills and knowledge to protect and serve our community effectively.

Beyond his professional achievements, David is deeply involved in the community. He has participated in programs such as Big Brothers and Sisters of Arlington, the Kiwanis Club, and the North Arlington Rotary. His commitment to community service was recognized when he received the Distinguished Community Service Award from Tillie Burgin for his exemplary work with Mission Arlington.

He is committed to building bridges of trust through mutual respect and serving the public with honor and dignity. Enhancing Community Safety:

  • Increased Patrolling Functions: By increasing our patrolling efforts, we can proactively prevent crime and provide a more visible law enforcement presence in our community.

  • Criminal Investigations: We will conduct thorough and prompt investigations to ensure that justice is served and that our community feels secure.

  • Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Working closely with other law enforcement agencies and emergency service departments, we aim to create a seamless network of safety and support across Tarrant County.

  • Traffic Enforcement: Stopping vehicles for major traffic violations to ensure our roads are safe for all citizens.

Platform Two

Strengthening Justice/Legal Support: 

  • Efficient Process Serving: From delivering subpoenas to executing writs of possession, attachment, sequestration, habeas corpus, execution, garnishment, and retrieval, we ensure that all legal documents are served promptly and accurately.

  • Support to Justices and Courts: Assisting the Justices of the Peace, County, and District Courts to uphold the law and maintain order.

  • Acting as Bailiff: Providing security and maintaining decorum in courtrooms to ensure a safe environment for legal proceedings.

  • Judgment Execution: Executing judgments and warrants as directed by lawful officials, including the seizure and sale of property to satisfy court orders.

Platform Three

Building Trust and Accountability: 

  • Transparent Operations: By enforcing laws regarding illegal dumping and hot checks, we aim to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of our community.

  • Community Engagement: Actively engaging with the community through programs and events to build bridges of trust and mutual respect.

  • Child Support Enforcement: Assisting the Attorney General’s Office with child support enforcement to ensure that all children in our community receive the support they deserve.

  • Fair and Impartial Service: Providing fair and impartial notification to citizens of court actions, ensuring that all members of the public are treated with honor and dignity.

  • Emergency Response: Assisting other law enforcement agencies and emergency service departments in times of crisis to ensure a coordinated and effective response.
